on arriving at the Beehive Inn turn R at the T-junction
follow the road round to the L and take the L fork at the next junction by the bus stop to follow Blue Ball Road.
immediately after the second house on the R turn R along very rough track signposted Merrybent Lane
after 100m turn R down tarmacked track signposted Little Merrybent Farm (easy to miss this turn)
alternatively if approaching from Cragg Vale
turn L at the top of Cragg Vale
take the next L fork at the head of Baitings Reservoir
ignore L fork after approx 1 mile
after 1.75 miles look out for house on L side of road with wrought iron gates and preceded by wooded area
turn immediately L along Merrybent Lane
take first R downhill to Little Merrybent
