Working together to minimise risks of foulbrood

As many members know, we have had a significant outbreak of AFB and EFB in the Halifax and District area in 2025.

 This meeting will help us work together as individual beekeepers and collectively to reduce the risks and future spread.

 We will look at how to identify the foulbroods, how to improve apiary hygiene and husbandry to reduce your risk. We will also demonstrate shookswarms for disease prevention and discuss swarm collection strategies to minimise risks.
