John Williams – Beekeeping on the Isles of Scilly

The Isles of Scilly, is one of the few places in the UK that are thought to be free from Varroa.

The islands accommodate a small number of honey bee colonies which give low production and are aggressive probably due to” inbreeding” resulting from limited hive numbers on separated small islands.

We will look at the history and what projects they are undertaking to overcome these issues
